Weekend Whipper: Face-First Plunge on Rock Wars (5.10a)

Who doesn’t like taking in a view of the ground as they whip towards it?

By Rock and Ice | August 10th, 2018

In this whipper, Nathan takes his first plunge on gear on Rock Wars (5.10a) at the Long Wall in the Red River Gorge.  We see the “ankle-catch, upside-down flip” pretty often, but the downwards running man is an elusive beast.

As much as we all like to turn and take in the sights once in a while, we here at R&I personally try to avoid doing our ground-scanning while falling. Glad you didn’t deck on this one, Nathan.

Happy Friday and climb safe this weekend!
