Weekend Whipper: Almost Decking on “The Acid Crack” (5.12d), J-Tree

On Mountain Project, The Acid Crack is described as a “not often done Josh testpiece [that] climbs an overhanging thin fingers crack.”

This one comes courtesy of Josh Holt.

Josh told us, “I thought it was a good idea to try for a redpoint of the The Acid Crack (5.12d) on New Year’s Day, despite having slept very little the night before. I quickly realized that I didn’t have the juice for this route while trying to place the crux piece. Fortunately didn’t get injured at all and sent a few days later.”

Glad you’re okay Josh and nice work finishing it off.

Happy Friday and climb safe this weekend!
