The Butler is an inch-thick pad that zips up like a gun case. Store all your gear in it for a day of sport climbing or bouldering, and wear it as a pack, or stuff it inside a full-sized crash pad. Unzipped, the 3-by-3-foot deck creates a nice seat, and its one inch of padding suits the Butler to lowball starts where thicker pads get in the way. Because the Butler is so thin, the foam remains creased when opened, you will have to spend some time breaking the crease to get the pad to lie flat. The Butler is also useful as a shim to level larger pads on a sloping landing. The taco-folding pad can fit a rope, draws, shoes and chalk bag, and take you through airports to your next bouldering destination, a feat no other pad on the market can touch.
