1975: Climbing Tasmania’s infamous Candlestick on ABC Sportsnight
This is excellent. In 1975, ABC Sportsnight followed a group of climbers as they climbed the Candlestick, a tower in Tasmania rising out of the sea just next to the classic Totem Pole.
Hooman Apri, Abbas Jafari, Jean Weiss and Al Read put up a new route on Minaret Peak and summited nearby Alam-Kuh (15,906 feet) in 1998.read more
