In 1986, the french dancer and climber, Antoine Le Menestrel (brother of Marc Le Menestrel), climbed the world’s first 8b (5.13d). The route, La Rose et le Vampire, is on the limestone of Buoux, France, and is famous for its crux cross through move – or Rose Move – which is now the ubiquitous term used for similar moves world-wide. Check out this video of Austrian powerhouse climber Anna Stohr revisiting one of the most classic sport climbs of all time.
