Ouray Ice Park Reopens

The Ouray Ice Park has reopened limited terrain after three weeks of temperatures in the 40s and 50s and five days of rain forced the park to close for climber safety. Currently, the Schoolroom and Kids' Walls are open for business and recent colder temperatures are improving conditions throughout the ice park. A Wednesday cold front is expected to plunge the daytime highs to the teens, with nightly lows to around zero. The ice park crew says they will be making ice 24 hours a day to have it in top condition by for the 16th annual Ice Festival, held January 6 through 9.
