Daniel Woods V15 FA Spray of Light, Rocklands

Daniel Woods put up a new V15 in Rocklands, South Africa last week. He established a left exit to Rocklands’ classic Ray of Light (V13), which adds another V13 onto Ray of Light’s crux. Woods calls the new cave exit Spray of Light and gave it the V15 grade.

He established a left exit to Rocklands’ classic Ray of Light (V13), which adds another V13 onto Ray of Light’s crux. Woods calls the new cave exit Spray of Light and gave it the V15 grade.

According to his 8a.nu scorecard, Spray of Light is Woods’ 20th V15 and his 11th first ascent at the grade.

Woods is no Rocklands stranger, having sent Monkey Wedding (V15) in 2013 [WATCH: Daniel Woods Repeating Monkey Wedding (V15)] and eight V14s, including classics Golden Shadow, Speed of Sound and Oliphant’s Dawn, since 2008. He has also claimed two V14 first ascents, Sky and Derailed, in Rocklands, as well as two V13 FAs, Fragile Steps and El Corazon.
